The European Parliament has legislated that the UK and other member states must implement the redrafted version of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive by no later than 9th January 2013. This means that the threshold for compliance with the regulations requiring occupiers to have a Display Energy Certificate is reduced to 500 sq m for Public Sector buildings and Commercial Sector buildings, that are visited by the public that have a gross internal area of 1000 sq m or more must now have a Display Energy Certificate.
